❦Chapter 3 Phenomenon❦

Pgs. 53-67

Summary: The pivotal car crash occurs in this chapter. It makes Bella realize, that Edward is special and very different than the average human. A out of control van spins to crush Bella. In about five seconds, Edward is able to run across the parking lot, and push/lift the van away from Bella! This attention grabbing move, plagues Bella until, she gets distracted by handsome Dr. Cullen. She confronts Edward, but he stays silent & mysterious.

In this chapter I really like the way the writer presents this scene. It's so clear that you can easily imagine it in your head. It gives out the movie screen effect, and Stephenie really makes you feel like you were there. To me, these are two key qualities in a good book. Thats one of the reasons, why I fell in love with the Twilight Saga. She also, increased my vocabulary with words like; irrevocable and masochistic. I remember, I was so excited to see the crash scene in the movie. Catherine (director of Twilight), did a wonderful job capturing the passion and amazement, perfectly in this infamous scene. It kinda annoyed me though, that Rosalie was so upset. Sure it sorta exposed them, but if he didn't save her than there would be a ton of blood and guts. That, would for sure, drive the Cullens in a frenzy; especially Jasper. And that would possibly totally expose them. And even though he did save her it's his choice! He has the right to makes his own choices, even though he's a vampire. If Rosalie's loved ones were in a situation like that I bet she would save them. Then again, maybe not! 0.o

❦Chapter 2 Open Book❦

Pgs. 29-52

Summary: In chapter 2, Bella has her second day at school; she quickly makes friends with Eric, Mike, Jessica and Angela. Edward is absent for a few days, and leaves Bella puzzled to why he hates her so much. She fears that his absence is caused by her. Finally Edward shows up. In Biology, they do the famous 'phases of Mitosis lab', and Edward introduces himself. Thus, they have their first conversation, and Bella confides that she is a 'open book.' ✳Important change: Edward's eyes are now topaz, way different than the pitch black from last week.✳

We first formally, meet Edward in this chapter. So I think it's important that I mention my favorite character in this book, which is Edward. Even though he's a vampire, he has lots of morals & ethics, which makes him different from nomadic vampires. Since he's from 1918, he is very polite, even to Jacob! He always thinks about others, loves his family and is quite chivalrous. He madly loves Bella, yet wants her to have a normal human life. Not to mention, the fact that even though she smells delicious to him he would never ever hurt her, or attempt to taste her blood. A understatement would be, that he has great willpower! He is also very protecting, which in my case is a very important quality, in a human or immortal. When he makes the great mistake to leave Bella, he did not do it to hurt her. One could argue, that it hurt him even more than Bella. But point being, he cares so much for her, he wanted to give her the chance at a human life. Last but not least, he's a smexy vampire! Now, can you say 'perfect guy'?

Twilight Close Reading

I'm starting a new series of blogs, while I reread The Twilight Saga, for the fourth time! It's called, Twilight Close Reading. I will write a summary of each chapter, and write a little something about the text. So here goes nothing!

❦Chapter 1 First Sight❦

Pgs. 3-28

Summary: We are first introduced to Bella Swan when she is at the airport with her mom. She travels to rainy Forks, Wa to live with her dad. She receives a new/old red Chevy pick-up truck and encounters her first day at Forks High and sees & learns about the Cullens, A very abnormal family that interests her.

When I first started reading this book I thought this was going to be a horribly cliche vampire book. I thought I wouldn't enjoy it (boy, was I wrong!) But I was still open minded. I had received Twilight for my 14th birthday on April 18th, 2007. It then sat on my shelf until September when I decided to start and read it. When I did start it, I was a little shocked that Bella wasn't the cookie cutter damsel in distress. I read the pages very mel'lifluently and after the first three pages I was devoured by it. It gripped and warped my imagination, and a little movie screen was playing in my mind. The fact that Forks was a real town was amazing. It was then that the great gravity of Twilight began to pull me in...

The Eclipse

Last night at 10:00 the clouds cleared to show a bright full moon directly over my head, it was a Christmas miracle! The clouds cleared for the rare Lunar Eclipse last night! I stayed up to 11:30 to watch the partial Eclipse, I wouldn't be able to make it another hour. It was quite a site. Every ten minutes, I would go out to check it and each time it would get darker and darker, as the light was being obscured by the moon. I watched to the point were there was only a sliver left and an orange tint had started glowing. It was amazing to witness this history. Eclipse

There is going to be a Lunar Eclipse tonight! How epicly awesome is that?! I'm so excited since I've never seen one! It starts tonight at 9:55, there will be a partial Eclipse at 10:33 and at 12:41 there will be a total Eclipse! I just hope the clouds and rain clears up here so I can see it!

Breaking Dawn Part 1 News!

Heads up, I have a lot of new exciting Breaking Dawn news and photos, from breakingdawnmovie.org!

1) Some of the cast members of BD, visited the 'Our Lady Of The Lake Children's Hospital! Good for them! What a great way to spread holiday cheer!

2) There are some awesome photos of the Volturi on set! With, Jane (Dakota Fanning), Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower), Alec (Cameron Bright), Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Aro (Michael Sheen). Dakota looks very in character! Love their costumes! Excited!

3) It is now clear that Ty Olsson will play Bella's mom's second husband, Phil Dwyer! We all know that Phil was a minor leaguer and traveled a lot. Really, this is what compelled Bella to go to Forks, and meet Edward and let the epicness ensue!

My Twilight Room!

I got to open and early x-mas gift this year, and guess what I got?! Bella's comforter! Do you guys know how hard it is to find the exact one?! It's so beautiful and looks great with my mint colored walls!

☛ So I then decided to make my room like Bella's as much as possible! I had gotten a old dream catcher and hung it above my bed! I framed a picture of Edward and Bella and one of her friends, Jessica, Mike and Eric. I also had these burgandy candles laying around so I put them on my dresser. I also have a similar looking desk lamp. It looks great. I adore my room now! All I have to do is wait for my Edward to come!

My Eclipse Party!

My Eclipse party was EPIC! A couple of my friends came over and we made mushroom ravioli... it was so good!!! The movie was completely amazing!!! It never fails to amaze me! I forgot about some real epic and cool scenes, like the ravine chase and the tent scene! Although my favorite scene was the leg hitch scene! That is just so beautiful. I also loved the deleted scenes. I've already watched it 2 timed! Ahh love it!!!

1) My Love By Sia: This was the most beautiful song I have ever heard! It was fluid, silky and bursting with love and romance. Paired with 'the leg hitch kissing scene' made me swell up with tears. Beautiful acting with beautiful music is a very potent mix! I absolutely love all the music they choose for the movies! What wonderful songs and albums!
